Winter Fling 2024
GHOSTS ON THE COAST - The Annual Winter Fling is coming up next February 2024, and this year it will be held in Newport Beach during Valentines Day. The event is being planned by our fellow West Coast Members, Gary and Sheryl Hunter, and we couldn't be more excited about their ideas for this year's event.
Please take a moment to review the flyer, which includes information about accommodations and events. You can find it attached to this email or on our website. We are confident that the Winter Fling will be a great opportunity to connect with fellow car enthusiasts, and enjoy some of the best sights and sounds that Newport Beach has to offer.
MONDAY - FEBRUARY 12th
Check into the hotel and prepare to visit Alan and LaDel Clendenen’s ocean-view home in Corona Del Mar to witness the sunset over Catalina Island. Indulge in a delightful spread of tapas, exquisite wines, and delectable desserts during your visit.
TUESDAY - FEBRUARY 13th
We will leave the hotel to embark on a journey to General Lyon’s Coto de Caza Car Collection, situated in an exclusive and secluded setting. Lunch awaits you at the Coto de Caza Country Club. On our return trip to the hotel, we will traverse the picturesque Pacific Coast Highway, also known as Highway 1, providing breathtaking vistas of the Pacific Ocean and charming beachside towns.
WEDNESDAY - FEBRUARY 14th
Our initial stop will be at Rick Rawlin’s impressive Car Collection, followed by a departure to John Bothwell’s place, where you can indulge in a quintessential California delight: lunch from the In-N-Out truck, which will prepare your preferred hamburgers. Subsequent to lunch, the Board meeting and technical session will ensue. Alternatively, you can opt for a brief bus ride back to the hotel to enjoy some personal time or indulge in shopping at Fashion Island, an upscale shopping destination conveniently located just across the street.
THURSDAY - FEBRUARY 15th
The itinerary includes a visit to an exclusive car collection, followed by a delightful lunch. Later, we will board the Balboa Queen for a scenic two-hour cruise around Balboa Island and Newport Beach. During the cruise, Alan Clendenen, a knowledgeable local, will provide insightful commentary about the area’s highlights. For dinner, we have arranged a charming al fresco dining experience at Sabatino’s Sausage Company, a cherished family-owned Italian restaurant.
*All transportation will be provided on new deluxe tour buses*
